Elementary Admission Checklist & Dates

Kindergarten

• Kindergarten applicants must be five years old.
  By September 1 of the entering year.
• Applications are accepted.
  April 1 through October 30.
• Two hour tours must be attended by both parents prior to the interview. Call (310) 397-3134 to schedule.
  Most Thursday mornings by appointment.
• Interviews are scheduled after an application is received and both parents have toured.
  Between October and February.
• Kindergarten student Visit Days consist of 90-minute sessions for all kindergarten applicants. Informal small groups of applicants participate in pre-school activities, and there is no testing.
  Saturdays in January.
• Pre-School Student Information Forms are mailed to the pre-school by Wildwood and are returned to Wildwood.
• Financial Aid application request forms are in the admission packet. More information on Financial Aid >
• Decision letters will be mailed.
  March 2008.
• A waitpool is maintained.
  Until the end of September 2008.

First-Fifth Grades

• Applications are accepted.
  Year-round, but those received after December 8 may be held for processing the next year
• Two hour tours must be attended by both parents prior to the interview. Call (310) 397-3134 to schedule.
  Most Thursday mornings by appointment.
• Interviews are scheduled after an application is received and both parents have toured.
  Between October and February.
• First grade student Visit Days consist of two-hour sessions. Applicants participate in small group kindergarten activities, and the visit includes a short screening for academic readiness.
  Saturdays in January
• Visits for second through fifth grade applicants occur during a school day. Students join a class for the day and complete an academic skills screening.
• Requests for student records are included in the admission packet. Parents take forms to the current school and records are sent to Wildwood.

• Decision letters will be mailed.
  March 2008.

  Until the end of September 2008.
