Dear Friends,
Having started the day with children at the elementary campus, and having said goodbye to middle and upper school students as they left that campus this afternoon, I turn now to you. Thank you for all the messages of support and affirmation you've shared with my colleagues and me this week, as we and our colleagues at other schools near and far have responded to the extraordinary events of recent months. I'm comforted to be here, with you, if remotely for the coming weeks.
These are challenging circumstances, yet, as I've walked the hallways and seen students and faculty collaborating to navigate the intricacies and logistics that will make these next two weeks possible, I am buoyed by the strength of our community and the commitment to health, learning, and support that we all share.
Thanks to the uncommonly good work of my administrative colleagues, faculty, and technology teams on both campuses, we have developed remote learning plans that are creative, interesting, and powerful. We will certainly encounter many questions along the way, and there will no doubt be some glitches as we make this transition. That being said, I know our community will work together with collaboration, flexibility, and patience as we navigate this new and unforeseen path.
Without the daily touchpoint of being on campus every day, communication becomes even more vital. To help ensure you have easy and immediate access to up-to-date information from us, we have developed a Coronavirus Resources page for families. The page will be updated regularly to reflect our current operating status and any announcements we share. It will also serve as a repository for all of our communications, with links to the resources that you and our students will need for remote learning. Please check the page daily.
Although our campuses will be closed to parents, students, and visitors these next two weeks, my colleagues and I remain accessible and will continue working to make this experience as smooth and productive as possible. I wish you good health and look forward to welcoming everybody back to Wildwood after spring break.
Warmly,
Landis Wildwood School |
