Dear Upper School Parents, Today I had the privilege of observing students and teachers present in community and engaged in learning. Although the setting may have been different than that of a typical Monday, the feeling of connectedness and inquiry were still very much alive. This is a testament to the expertise of our teachers, the investment of our students, and the strength of our community. With this in mind, we launch into our first week of remote learning. Please note the following information: - Tomorrow, March 17, we will hold Advisory from 1:05-1:35 p.m. Your child can expect this same meeting time next Tuesday. To join Advisory, students should visit their Advisory class page and enter through the link provided on the Bulletin Board.
- Consultancy will begin for upper school students this Thursday from 1:05-1:55 p.m. Your child can expect this same meeting time next Thursday. Consultancy will be an "open door" time period for small groups of students to convene and ask specific questions of teachers. To join consultancy, a student will enter through the Zoom link located on the Bulletin Board section of that teacher's class page.
- The course registration period has been extended. The Learning Management System registration page will reopen tomorrow morning and be accessible through the end of the day on March 20. Please encourage students to contact me with any questions.
- Remote learning calls for students to be engaged in screen time for longer lengths than any of us would like. While we work with teachers to provide variety in activities during their class period and to be mindful of the technology expectations of their assigned work, we invite you to read this post from Challenge Success and consider how we can provide balance in our lives during this time.
As a reminder, Wildwood School has created a COVID-19 Resources page for Wildwood families. Please visit www.wildwood.org/coronavirus daily for the latest school news, as well as up-to-date remote learning resources and instructions. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that may arise as we continue on this journey together. Warmly, Jenn Spellman Director of Upper School jspellman@wildwood.org |
