Dear Wildwood 3rd-5th Grade Parents and Guardians,
As I mentioned last week, we're looking forward to the cohorted, incremental return to campus on:

To help you and your children prepare, please review the information below. All of this information, including schedules, COVID-19 testing information, and important links and documents are also available on our Elementary School Distributed Learning webpage at wildwood.org/eledistributedlearning. The site also includes a daily checklist and reminders, wellness check information, and FAQ section.
I understand that there was some confusion about the two-week blocks for onsite Distributed Learning. In order to plan for onsite learning and to support our teachers, we are asking that you inform us of your decision to send your student(s) to campus every two weeks. Though schedules are always subject to change based on L.A. County case rates, we hope this system will also allow for you to feel more comfortable making decisions for your family in addition to supporting continuity in class work. February Schedule Survey Due Feb. 3: For our first February onsite days, please complete the survey below by Feb. 3 to let us know whether your child(ren) will be onsite the weeks of Feb. 8 and Feb. 17. If we do not receive a form for your student by Feb. 3, your student will remain offsite for these two weeks. Teachers are making plans based on the number of children in attendance onsite and offsite, and your timely survey response is vital to this planning. You may not split onsite/offsite between weeks—students will either be offsite or onsite for the entirety of each two-week period. The next opportunity to join onsite will be for the two-week block beginning Feb. 22. You will have the opportunity to reevaluate your choice for every upcoming two-week period with a new survey. COVID-19 Testing for First February Start Date: All children returning onsite for the first February Distributed Learning onsite date will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test result by Friday, Feb. 5 (for 3rd-4th graders) and Monday, Feb. 8 (for 5th graders). To make this easier for families, we will provide onsite testing which will be a cheek swab.
COVID-19 Testing for Students During the School Day: Future testing (via cheek swab) for 3rd-5th grade will occur weekly and will take place while children are on campus. We will notify you ahead of time when the COVID-19 testing will occur on campus. If your child has already had the COVID-19 test on campus, you will not need to bring copies of insurance cards or show proof of insurance again.
Required Forms:
If you choose not to have your child tested on campus, you will need to submit documentation of a negative test result to Adriana Gonzalez at agonzalez@wildwood.org by the Friday before each week. February Onsite Schedule Overview: 3rd Grade Students:

Camera Use for Students at Home: To create a more inclusive environment for our students who will be joining from home, we will be using classroom cameras to let them experience some of the classroom setting along with their peers. This will also allow specialist teachers who will be Zooming into classrooms to be able to see and engage with all onsite students as well. We will not be recording the Zoom sessions. If you do not want your child to be seen on the Zoom call, please notify your classroom teacher and Assistant Director of Elementary School Sarah Simon. As always, please feel free to reach out to our pandemic coordinators if you have any questions: Christina Kyong, Melanie Benefiel, and Billy DuMone.
We look forward to welcoming your children to campus.
Stay healthy,
Katie Rios Director of Elementary School Wildwood School |
