Dear 6th Parents and Guardians,
It's finally time! Based on the guidance set by the L.A. County Department of Public Health, we have now met the threshold to expand onsite learning to include 6th grade, which allows us to bring our 6th graders onsite more often each week. The first day for our 6th grade onsite Distributed Learning schedule is Monday, March 8.
Schedule Starting Monday, March 8: Beginning on March 8, students will able to attend Mondays onsite for the full day and Tuesday afternoons. In addition, the Wednesday Visit Days will continue as planned. Below is a quick overview of what each week will look like:
Specific details, including drop-off and pick-up schedules by cohort, as well as other safety logistics will be sent next week. Details below can also be found on our Middle and Upper School Distributed Learning webpage at wildwood.org/mudistributedlearning. Response Required: Onsite Participation Survey Due Monday, March 1 In order to plan for onsite learning and support our teachers, please complete this new survey by Monday, March 1 to let us know if your 6th grader will be onsite from March 8 through March 26, and whether you will be using our COVID-19 on campus testing services for your student on Wednesday, March 3. If you do not complete the survey, we will assume that your 6th grader will not be onsite on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout March, or on the Wednesday, March 24 Visit Day. If your student will not be onsite in March, students will Zoom into class. We will send information next week with more details. March 3: During School Hours COVID-19 Testing at the Middle and Upper Campus: All students returning onsite starting Monday, March 8 will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test result within the week before their return. To make this easier for families, we are providing onsite PCR nasal swab COVID-19 testing at the middle and upper campus during their scheduled March 3 Visit Day.
If your student will not be at the March 3 Visit Day and need to get COVID-19 testing done on campus, please bring your student to the middle and upper campus from 10-11:30 a.m.
New Testing Company for 6th Graders During School Hours March 3: To accommodate the need for increased testing on campus, we have partnered with an additional lab, Mend Urgent Care. In order for your student to have COVID-19 testing done with this new lab on-campus on March 3, please note the required items below:
If you choose not to have your student tested on campus, please provide documentation of the negative test result to 6-12covidinfo@wildwood.org by Friday, March 5. Information Session: March 2 at 7 p.m. We know that some of you might have questions about these plans for 6th graders, so we invite you to join us for an information session about our reopening plans on Tuesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. Click here to join the meeting.
Warmly, Jaimi Boehm Director of Middle School Wildwood School |
