Dear 12th Parents and Guardians,
We are so excited to welcome our 12th graders to the middle and upper campus next Wednesday, March 3. We have a great afternoon planned for building connections and community, and look forward to seeing your students. We're also happy to announce we've added additional Visit Days (March 10 and March 17)! More details about these days are noted below.
In preparation for the upcoming March 3 Visit Day and subsequent Visit Days, please review the information below with your student. Visit Day Activities These days will be device-free. Students will not need their laptops, nor books. The visits will include community building activities and advisory connection time (indoors and outdoors), as well as "Adulting University" opportunities.
Adulting University One of our most beloved senior experiences at Wildwood is "Adulting University," a set of tutorials on those essential aspects of being an adult that rarely make it into a high school class: maintaining personal finances, setting (and keeping to!) a budget, surviving the first year of college, learning basic home and car maintenance, and even getting a better understanding of the legal system.
Starting on March 10, we will offer our Adulting University program on Wednesday Visit Days throughout March and April. These sessions are optional. Seniors who choose to attend will get lectures from guest speakers on various Adulting University topics and then participate in activities that apply their new adulting learnings. Students will have the opportunity to indicate which of their friends and classmates they would like to be cohorted with.
Safety Strategies During the Day We have scheduled handwashing/hand sanitizing and bathroom breaks at each transition point. Advisory groups will be assigned to specific bathrooms to use throughout the day. Attendance If you did not complete the survey (due Feb. 23) letting us know if your student will be joining us on March 3, then your student will remain offsite for this day. Students must complete COVID-19 testing prior to coming to campus next Wednesday, and we need documentation of a negative test result before then. If your student tested at Wildwood on Feb. 24, you do not need to submit test results. Otherwise, please provide documentation of a negative test result to 6-12covidinfo@wildwood.org no later than Friday, Feb. 26.
Attending Visit Days is optional. Our schedule ensures that we can accommodate these onsite visits without impacting academic class time. Since upper school students will be visiting campus in the afternoons during their asynchronous blocks, they won't be missing live classes on these visit days. Before Your Visit Day
Wellness Check and Arrival
Drop-Off/Pick-Up Schedule and Campus Map Students will be dropped off in staggered Advisory groups (if you have students in different Advisory groups, please drop off both students during the earlier time slot). Students who are early will be instructed to stand outside, physically distanced, and will wait until their Advisory group is scheduled to come onto campus. During pick-up times, families who have two students in different Advisory groups should come at the later time. Having your student's placard, with full name, grade, and advisor, visible at both drop-off and pick-up will help streamline the process for all. Click here for a map of the parking garage, wellness checkpoint, and students' paths to their Advisory groups.

ACTION REQUIRED: Additional Visit Days Added—March 10 and 17 We're excited that our seniors will be able to join us every Wednesday in March. In order to plan for these days, please note the required items below:
As we continue with onsite Visit Days, it is a good idea to bookmark and check our Middle and Upper School Distributed Learning webpage at wildwood.org/mudistributedlearning regularly for updates. Please reach out to me, Middle and Upper School Pandemic Coordinator Billy DuMone, or 6-12CovidInfo@wildwood.org with any questions.
We look forward to seeing your students!
Warmly,
Vanessa Stotland Interim Director of Upper School Wildwood School |
