Wildwood Institute for STEM Research and Development (WISRD) hosted InnovatED.LA at the middle and upper campus, with more than 300 people of all ages visiting presenters ranging in topics from MineCraft to microscopes. The weekend-long event was part of Los Angeles Innovation Week, and engaged families, students, parents, teachers, administrators, and industry leaders in a range of activities that explored innovation and creativity. Visitors mingled with sponsors from Google, LA Makerspace, The Science & Entertainment Exchange—a program of the National Academy, Cal State Northridge, Digital Dragon, and more.

The popular Hackathon included over 25 app developers, from middle schoolers to college students, working to create new and interesting video games in under 24 hours. Visitors tinkered in our Makerspace and worked with 3D printers, cosmic ray detectors, holograms, and much more.

Planning for next year's event has already begun!
