Athletic Program
Wildwood’s philosophy is that properly guided athletics and competition make students well-rounded individuals. Our athletic program focuses on the personal rewards that come from sports: lessons in teamwork, self-awareness, responsibility, commitment, dedication, and physical health.
Divisions One and Two follow a “no-cut” policy, guaranteeing that every student can have a spot on an athletic team. Students learn to make positive contributions to their team, to work together, and to develop confidence and physical ability. Division One and Two students compete in the Pacific Basin League.
The Division Three and Senior Institute program provides more playing time for those students who excel at various sports. At this point in the students’ careers (junior varsity and varsity), they can earn team positions based on athletic skill, desire, and commitment. Wildwood is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section, and Wildwood high school athletes play in the Mulholland League.
Student athletes are expected to maintain their academic work and to demonstrate respect and good sportsmanship at all times.
