Professional Development Workshops

The Outreach Center offers a series of five secondary and two elementary workshops led by Wildwood administration and faculty who have many years of experience in innovative teaching and learning. The workshops take place at either Wildwood’s Elementary Campus at 12201 Washington Place, Los Angeles, CA 90066 or Wildwood’s Secondary Campus, 11811 Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90064. Schools or school districts can contract any of our workshops with a minimum of 40 people and workshop can be custom-designed to fit the school or school district’s needs. Contracted workshops can be done at Wildwood or at the school site.

School Visits

We have hosted educators from many local-area schools and from as far away as China and Australia. All school visits are custom-designed to meet the needs of the visitors include an orientation, classroom observations, a student-led campus tour, lunch with faculty, debrief with the Center Director and staff, and written information about the school and school programs.

Elementary School visits are by appointment only. Secondary school (grades 6-12) visits are scheduled on Wednesdays. Dates for the 2006-07 school year are:

  • January 24, 2007
  • March 14, 2007
  • May 16, 2007

Program Design and Mentoring

Wildwood has designed a variety of programs to support a school or individual's particular needs including school design, program design, fundraising, and administration and teacher training and professional development. As a Coalition of Essential Schools Mentor School, Wildwood mentors several charter and public schools in California.
