Wildwood’s first “alumni on the road” event brought our westside school to the east coast for a NYC fall weekend. Director of College Counseling and Alumni Relations Amy Abrams, Advancement Assistant for Events and Alumni Relations Paige Verdun ’13, and Senior Seminar Teacher Tassie Hadlock-Piltz journeyed to the city to connect, celebrate, and chow down with about 20 east coast-based alumni from the classes of 2010 to 2018. The parents of Lucy O’Connor ’18 graciously hosted the afternoon event at their lovely home, where alumni networked and shared Wildwood memories. The oldest to the most recent alumni made new connections, like Ben Sharif ’10, a graduate of NYU Tisch, and Matin Kazemi ’18, who started there this year. In truly Wildwood fashion, alumni were sent away with materials for their own Socratic Seminar about "what makes you a New Yorker?" We hope they had fun exploring together on the subway ride home.
After the trip, Amy noted, "It was wonderful to have so many Wildwood alums together in one place! It was great to see everyone reconnecting with each other, catching up, reminiscing about their time at Wildwood, and talking about all the amazing things they are doing now."
Travel tidbit: Amy, Paige, and Tassie also attended a screening of a short film (“Chrysopoeia”) by current student Lucy B. ’19 that was an entry into the All American High School Film Festival (and winner for best director at Wildwood's 5th Annual Film Festival last school year)!
