Faculty and Staff Professional Development

Wildwood welcomes teachers and staff members who bring skills, qualities, and/or experiences that demonstrate an understanding of and ability to support our work surrounding multicultural education, global citizenship, and sustaining a diverse and inclusive school community.

Courageous Conversation about Race (CCAR)

In the fall of 2020, all Wildwood School employees began training with Courageous Conversation About Race®, an award-winning protocol for effectively engaging, sustaining, and deepening interracial dialogue. Faculty and staff continue to meet on professional development days for more intensive training in this work.

NAIS People of Color Conference

Wildwood School faculty and staff are annual attendees of the NAIS People of Color Conference (PoCC), sponsored by the National Association of Independent Schools. PoCC provides a safe space for professional development and networking for people of color and allies of all backgrounds. Its goal is to equip educators at every level, from teachers to trustees, with knowledge, skills, and experiences to improve and enhance the interracial, interethnic, and intercultural climate in their schools, as well as the attending academic, social-emotional, and workplace performance outcomes for students and adults alike.

The DEIB Leadership Team leads training for all faculty to support them in effectively engaging students and colleagues.
