Parent Organization Committees

Whether you're a book fan, an environmentalist, or an event planner, the Wildwood Parent Organization (WWPO) has a host of committees that welcome your talents.

Angel. This committee coordinates efforts to support and offer services to Wildwood families in times of need.  Volunteers may deliver meals to families, provide lunches for students, or assist with rides to school and after-school activities.

Art Gallery Hospitality (middle and upper campus). This committee works directly with the middle and upper school art teachers to provide refreshments for the bi-monthly evening student art exhibitions for the community. Volunteers help by providing refreshments and snacks for the openings.

Athletics Planning. This group builds awareness and increases involvement in Wildwood athletics K-12. Help advance our Wildwood Wolves pride!

Athletics Team Sports Co-Chairs. These positions support the co-curricular athletic program at the middle and upper school through communications, ceremonies, and spirit initiatives throughout the school year.

Breakfast Club. In appreciation of our teachers’ efforts at conference time, parents provide a light breakfast on conference day mornings at both campuses. This committee helps with set-up, clean-up, or organization of the food from parents.

College (middle and upper campus). Volunteers provide food and refreshments for various college information events that are held for parents and students.

Dinner for 12 Strangers/Apps for 50. This popular Wildwood tradition is designed to bring diverse groups of parents, faculty, and staff together in either an intimate setting or a large cocktail party. Dinners are hosted simultaneously by Wildwood families.

Elementary Yearbook (elementary campus). Volunteers help bring to life, through photos and print, the magical memories that occur each school year to produce a quality elementary school yearbook.

Faculty and Staff Appreciation. Parents help organize this annual appreciation luncheon for faculty and staff.

GardenPalooza. This popular family-friendly event celebrates Mother Nature through hands-on learning activities, games, and more. Help plan the various art and garden projects, coordinate food and beverages, and support the afternoon’s activities as needed.

Grade Parent (middle and upper campus). Grade parents are a resource for new and returning families and help navigate all things Wildwood.

Host Family. Host families offer additional support and help build community for new students and their parents.

Jog-a-Thon (elementary campus). A beloved tradition at Wildwood, parents help produce all aspects of the event from collecting pledges and creating décor to managing vendors, volunteers, and counting laps.

Literacy Events. This group plans, coordinates, and executes book fairs and author visits to celebrate literacy and foster our children’s love of reading.

Parent Education. This committee coordinates learning opportunities for parents who want to learn about Wildwood's curriculum and how to better understand their children.

Parent Multicultural Collaborative (PMC). This committee plays an important role in supporting and advancing Wildwood's multicultural community and establishes a forum where parents can learn about themselves and others through the exploration of issues related to multiculturalism. Volunteers help with the Families of Children of Color Picnic and Multicultural Family Story Night.

Room Parent (elementary campus). The Room Parent serves as the classroom liaison between teachers and parents. Room parents are a resource for new and returning families and help navigate all things Wildwood.

Spirit Day/Fenway Park. Volunteers help coordinate school events (Spirit Day in February and Fenway Park in June) designed to expose elementary students to middle and upper school athletics and increase school spirit.

Spirit Merchandise. This committee coordinates marketing and sales of spirit merchandise (school logo t-shirts, sweatshirts) and collaborates with the administration to develop new products. Volunteers help sell spirit merchandise at key school events throughout the year.

Student Lunch (elementary campus). Volunteers help serve student lunch through the hot lunch program.

Visual Art. This committee acts as liaisons between the visual arts team and WWPO. Volunteers will assist with exhibitions, installations, and overall studio organization.

Winter Solstice Breakfast. Parents are invited to share baked goods celebrating their family’s cultural history in order to “break bread” and build community. Volunteers are needed to cook, bake, and help with set-up and clean-up.

Year of the Party. This committee coordinates a suite of amazing parties to build community among parents and families, as well as raise awareness and money for the Hope Fund, Wildwood's Endowment that supports the Flexible Tuition Program.
