Elementary School Process

Our campus may be closed, but your Wildwood School admission experience is not. Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. At Wildwood School, we want to support you in this process by listening to what matters to you. Please email Alissa Dixon at adixon@wildwood.org so we can answer any questions you may have.

Wildwood's elementary school program is designed to honor and challenge each student. We look forward to getting to know your child during our admission process—every step allows us to develop a deep understanding of an applicant and their family. We invite you to tour our campuses when school is in session to experience Wildwood firsthand.

Kindergarten is our largest entry point, with 60 available spaces per year. In 1st through 5th grade, openings occur by attrition and we typically have one to three openings per grade level per year.

Kindergarten through 5th grade applications are accepted July 2019 through Dec. 18, 2019. Applications received after December may be held for the following year. All applicants, including siblings, must submit an inquiry form as the first step in the admission process. Sibling families are not required to attend a campus tour.

To apply, please complete the following:

Step 1: Submit the online Inquiry Form

Once your submitted online inquiry is processed, it generates an email giving you a username and the ability to create a password for our Wildwood School Admission Portal, your personalized admission portal.

Step 2: Log into your personalized Wildwood School Admission Portal

Click here to log into the Wildwood School Admission Portal and access the application, school forms, and to check the progress of your online application.

Once signed onto your Wildwood School Admission Portal, you may locate your child’s checklist by clicking on their name in the upper lefthand corner. The checklist can be found under the “Admission Progress” tab.

Step 3: Register to attend a campus tour

PLEASE NOTE: While official tour dates have passed, it is important to us that your family still have a tour of our campus. As of Dec. 1, 2019, please email Alissa Dixon at adixon@wildwood.org to schedule a tour.

At least one parent/guardian must attend an elementary campus tour. This is an adult only tour. Tours are held on select Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. by appointment only. You may register for an elementary tour through the Wildwood School Admission Portal checklist under the “Attend Parent/Guardian Elementary Tour” checklist item.

If you are applying for kindergarten, we recommend touring the school in the early spring prior to the application deadline so that you have the widest choice of interview dates and times.

Although it is not a required part of our elementary admission process, we invite prospective elementary parents/guardians to also visit our middle and upper campus. Tours may be self-scheduled through the online Wildwood School Admission Portal

Step 4: Complete the online Application Form

The online application fee is $125 and is non-refundable. A fee waiver is available upon request. Please contact the admission office for more details.

Step 5: Attend a parent/guardian interview

Once we have received your application, we will contact you to schedule an interview. Interviews (for kindergarten through 5th grade applicants) are held between September and January. Interviews are scheduled Monday through Friday during school hours and are on a first come, first served basis.

Step 6: Bring your child to a visit day

Once we receive your application, you will receive information about registering for a student visit day.

Kindergarten student visit days will take place on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 and Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020. These 90-minute sessions offer small groups of applicants the chance to participate in preschool like activities and include a screening for kindergarten readiness.

First graders will be scheduled to visit on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. The 90-minute visit offers applicants the chance to participate in small-group activities and includes a screening for academic readiness.

Visits for 2nd through 5th grade applicants are scheduled during the school day. Students spend a full day with a class in their current grade and complete an academic skills screening with a learning specialist.

Step 7: Request transcripts and recommendations from your child's current school (in early December)
