Elementary School Process

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. At Wildwood School, we want to support you in this process by listening to what matters to you. Please email Alissa Dixon at adixon@wildwood.org so we can answer any questions you may have.

Wildwood's elementary school program is designed to honor and challenge each student. We look forward to getting to know your child during our admission process—every step allows us to develop a deep understanding of an applicant and their family. We invite you to tour our campuses when school is in session to experience Wildwood firsthand.

Kindergarten is our largest entry point, with 60 available spaces per year. In 1st through 5th grade, openings occur by attrition and we typically have one to three openings per grade level per year.

Kindergarten through 5th grade applications are accepted July 2020 through Jan. 4, 2021. Applications received after Jan. 4, 2021 may be held for the following year. All applicants, including siblings, must submit an inquiry form as the first step in the admission process. Sibling families are not required to attend a virtual event.

To apply, please complete the following:

Step 1: Submit the online Inquiry Form

Once your submitted online inquiry is processed, it generates an email giving you a username and the ability to create a password for our Wildwood School Admission Portal, your personalized admission portal.

Step 2: Log into your personalized Wildwood School Admission Portal

Click here to log into the Wildwood School Admission Portal and access the application, school forms, and to check the progress of your online application.

Once signed onto your Wildwood School Admission Portal, you may locate your child’s checklist by clicking on their name in the upper lefthand corner. The checklist can be found under the “Admission Progress” tab.

Step 3: Participate in a virtual event

Please join us for one of many virtual events for parents/guardians. First Look sessions are held on select Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. by registration only. You may register for an elementary First Look session through the Wildwood School Admission Portal checklist under the "Attend Parent/Guardian Virtual Informational Event(s)" checklist item.

We also invite you to explore Wildwood and engage with those who know it best—current parents, alumni, students, and school leadership. You may register here and attend any of the events that interest you and your family.

Step 4: Complete the online Application Form

The online application fee is $125 and is non-refundable. A fee waiver is available upon request. Please contact the admission office for more details.

Step 5: Parent/guardian interview

Once we have received your application, we will contact you to schedule a virtual interview. Interviews (for kindergarten through 5th grade applicants) are held between September and January. Interviews are scheduled Monday through Friday during school hours and are on a first come, first served basis.

Step 6: Visit Day and Student Assessment

In lieu of an in person visit day and assessment, we will be sending a kindergarten/first grade readiness questionnaire to all parents/guardians of children applying to kindergarten and first grade.

Step 7: Request transcripts and recommendations from your child's current school (in early December)
