Meet Sean Daniels

As a tech guru and video pro, Sean loves to chat with Wildwood's community of technology enthusiasts about technology integration, the latest applications, upgrades, and user interfaces.

Preparing Wildwood students for the future means helping them understand and expand the potential of the tools they use, Sean says. "It's all about giving students freedom to explore, gain knowledge in various platforms, and get the outcomes they want." So Sean keeps an eye on what's new and what's next. "Combining face-to-face learning with web-based learning is the future," Sean says. "With so many universities offering blended models, it's great for students to get a taste of that before they leave here." For students with aspirations aimed at largers screens, too, Sean guides students in film-production electives.

When it comes to supporting teachers integrating technology into classroom learning, Sean sees a role at Wildwood, and beyond. As part of the team leading the school's EdTech charge, he's volunteered to help local public schools with integration. Sean sees possibilities for combining his expertise and community involvement to expand Wildwood Outreach Center's offerings. "We already open our doors to educators all over and offer ideas on how to adopt our program and curriculum, and the role of technology continues to grow," he says. "Professionals here are open to spreading what is so successful in our program."

As the tools evolve, so does the teaching and learning. That dynamic energy is the best part of the job, Sean says. "At Wildwood, it's not just about wanting to be on the leading edge; we're there."
