Flexible Tuition Guidelines

The National Association of Independent Schools Principles of Good Practice for Financial Aid state that the "primary responsibility for a student's independent school tuition rests with the student's family." Seeking families who make education a priority in allocating financial resources, Wildwood School recognizes that every family's situation is unique. There is no single factor that determines who should apply for flexible tuition, or who is eligible for the program. The following general guidelines are provided to help a family understand some of the factors considered in the application.
  • There is no set income or asset level that determines whether an applicant qualifies for flexible tuition.

  • All sources of income are taken into consideration. Those include, but are not limited to: parents’ income, child’s income, family partnerships, gifts, and any other beneficial interests from which income or principal is derived. Assets are also considered.

  • Although financial circumstances may change after a family enrolls, it is unlikely that flexible tuition funds will be available for currently enrolled students not previously in the program.

  • In cases of separated and divorced parents, the same documentation is required from both parents, regardless of court ordered custody or support.

  • If granted, flexible tuition covers a percentage of tuition and fees; the school expects that families will fulfill their remaining financial obligation in accordance with our regular payment schedules.
