CONGRATULATIONS to our girls varsity volleyball team! After a dominating season, the upper school girls varsity volleyball team easily qualified for the CIF playoffs, putting the team among the ranks of California’s best. The team knocked out first round opponent Carpenteria High School and advanced to the second round in Santa Barbara, where their season ended in a close match, 2-3, against Laguna Blanca.
The middle school boys cross country team finished in 2nd place out of seven teams in a recent race, and the girls finished 3rd place out of five teams. Emmett D. ‘27 and Tomás N. ‘29 both finished in the top 10 out of 81 male runners, while Marek M. ‘29 and Neve D. ‘29 finished in the top 15 out of 43 runners.
At the varsity level, our cross country runners had a great meet at Palos Verdes. Theo U.-N. ‘25 won his race and set the school record, running a blistering 11 minutes and 33 seconds.
The boys beach volleyball season wrapped up after competing in the JV tournament of champions and the varsity pairs championships, which had some of the best teams in the country. In the varsity matches, Quinn H. ‘23/Matthew M. ‘25 pulled off a solid win vs Viewpoint and played well in some really tough matches throughout the day. In JV, Ethan C. ‘23/Jonah S. ‘25 and Will J. ‘23/Sid Z. ‘23 each got 2 wins against some high quality competition.
Currently, 5th grade girls meet weekly with coach Sarah Schemerhorn to practice drills and build skills such as dribbling, shooting, rebounding, and passing. More elementary sports clinics will be planned throughout the year.

Sandi believes that Wildwood students are inquisitive information seekers. They don’t want information handed to them; rather, they want to learn how to find the information and take part in the search.
