Apply to Elementary School (K-5)

Once your submitted online inquiry is processed, you will receive login credentials by email for the Wildwood School Admission Portal. This will give you access to the application as well as the ability to register for tours and select events.

Once signed onto your Wildwood School Admission Portal, you may locate your child’s checklist by clicking on their name in the upper lefthand corner. The checklist can be found under the “Admission Progress” tab.

The application fee is $150 and is non-refundable. A fee waiver is available upon request. Please contact the admission office for more details. All applications (available on the Wildwood School Admission Portal) must be submitted by Dec. 15, 2025.

Please Note on the Application: While the short answer fields can accommodate lengthier responses, we appreciate it if you limit your answers to approximately 500 characters. We look forward to learning more during the interview stage.

Once you have submitted your application, the next step on the checklist is to schedule an interview. Parent/guardian interviews (for kindergarten through 5th grade applicants) are held between September and January.

Students applying to kindergarten and 1st grade will have a chance to come to campus in January for a visit and observation. Each child will experience the classroom and engage in small group activities with our experienced early learning educators. There is no preparation needed for this. Kindergarten applicants can join either the Jan. 10 or Jan. 24 visit day. First grade applicants will attend the Jan. 24 visit day. Registration will be available through the online admission portal in November.

Students applying to grades 2-5 will have the opportunity to visit Wildwood and spend time on campus for a partial school day. Your child will have a chance to participate in activities and academics in the classroom. During their time on campus, your student will be assessed for their grade level readiness. There is nothing you or your child must prepare in advance for their visit. 

Transcripts (for grades 1-5 only), Recommendations, and any other supplemental forms and files need to be submitted by Jan. 9, 2026.

Option 1 (Preferred): Sign into your Wildwood School Admission Portal and request the Transcript and Recommendation Forms.

• We recommend requesting and submitting the recommendation via your child’s checklist on the portal. This way, the teacher/administrator is able to send it back to Wildwood directly the same way.

Option 2: Please download and submit the form directly to your child's current school. The school will return the forms and transcript directly to Wildwood.

The Admission Office will release decisions to families of students applying to Kindergarten through 5th grade applicants at 5 p.m. PST on Friday, March 13, 2026. Families will have until 12 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026 to enroll in the grade to which they have been accepted.

We love to see generations of Wildwood families in our applicant pool! Please note there is no separate process or preferential policy for legacy applicants. Children and family members of Wildwood graduates follow our standard application process and are considered as part of our larger applicant pool. That said, we ask that you please indicate your relationship with Wildwood on the application form, as it is helpful for us to know your connections to Wildwood as we get to know your family through the admission process.

No, we do not track attendance at tours and events. While we love sharing our campus with prospective families, there are many opportunities to experience our school community throughout the admission season. We encourage you to get to know Wildwood in a way that works best for your family without feeling pressured to attend all events to show demonstrated interest.

There are 50-60 spots for new kindergarten students each year. 

Your application is complete once all of the following steps have been completed:

• Online application submitted
• Attended a parent/guardian interview
• Attended the visit day
• Submitted all supplemental materials (recommendations and transcripts, when applicable)

When everything has been received and processed, your application is complete. Our team will notify you in late January to February if anything is missing or still needed to complete your application. You are also welcome to check your Wildwood School Admission Portal to track the progress of your application.

We welcome applications for grades 1-5, and our openings in these grades are based upon attrition. 

A child must turn 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2026 to apply for kindergarten entry in the 2026-2027 school year.

Siblings of current Wildwood students are given priority consideration for admission. While Wildwood School is a good match for the majority of siblings, acceptance is not guaranteed as the admission process takes into account a complex set of criteria. To start the admission process, please fill out the online inquiry form.

Please Note: There is a required earlier deadline for applicants who are siblings of a current Wildwood student: Oct. 6, 2025.

This may include students applying from: A Better Chance (ABC), Breakthrough, Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation (DMSF), Harlem Leadership and Lacrosse (HLL), Independent School Alliance (ISA), Inspiring Young Minds (IYM), New Jersey Seeds Foundation, Oliver Scholars, Queen City Foundation, SMART Foundation, Stepping Stone Foundation, TEAK Fellowship Private School Axis, or Young Eisner Scholars (YES).

If you are applying through one of the aforementioned programs that use a program-specific application, we request that you complete the Admission Inquiry Form to create your Wildwood Admission Portal account. Once your account is active, you may log in at any time to track the status of your application.

The application deadline is Dec. 15 by 11:59 p.m., PST. This is the due date for the application itself. Supplemental materials are due Jan. 9.

The process can begin at any time with an exploration of our website and social media. Our application will go live on Aug. 1.

Admission decisions will be released on March 13, 2026 at 5 p.m., PST.
